Chris is the ambitious, innocent, normal, but hapless, scapegoat, vulnerable eldest child. He wishes he were cool, handsome, talented, popular, or anything positive. Regardless of whether Chris possesses any of these traits, he's certainly never treated as if he does, but often as if he doesn't. As a few examples, Chris is bullied at school, tortured by his sister, shown up by his brother, victimized by the racist teaching staff, gets his money stolen by neighborhood thugs, underpaid at work, receives tough love from his "ghetto-snobbish" mother, and distressing treatment from his cheap father.
