Pipes first started acting in 2001 on the popular show Angel. She was a regular on the TV series Lost at Home and appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movie Pixel Perfect as Samantha with Ricky Ullman. She is set to star in the movie Fingerprints with Kristin Cavallari. She has also appeared on TV shows, such as Crossing Jordan and Drake & Josh.

She starred in the direct-to-video film, Her Best Move along with Lalaine from Lizzie McGuire. She appeared in Odd Girl Out along side Alexa Vega and other small budget films.

As of October 2007, Pipes is starring in the drama series Life Is Wild airing on The CW. The show (based on the British show Wild at Heart) is about a New York veterinarian who moves his second wife and their two sets of children to a South African game reserve run by his former father-in-law. She resided in South Africa while filming.
