After finishing her studies in Psychology at the Universidad de los Andes, Turbay focused on modeling, fashion and entertainment news segments on TV, like "Noticias QAP" and "CM&", and programs like "Hola Paola" (Hello Paola) during the 90's. In 2005 she was the official presenter, next to Miguel Varoni, of the National Beauty Pageant. She has also made cameo appearances in several Colombian series like "O Todos en la Cama" (Or Everybody in the Bed), "Ecomoda" (sequel to Betty la fea) and "Leche" (Milk).

After studying acting in Hollywood, FL, Turbay became the main character of the Colombian comedy "Noticias Calientes" (Hot News) of RCN Television in 2002. Two years later she would play a major role in the soap opera "Las Noches de Luciana" (The Nights of Luciana) and in 2006 would present/anchor the Colombian version of the Latin reality show "Bailando por un Sue
