Convicted killer Lee Jay Spalding is released from prison after serving 25 years for murdering his girlfriend. Mick is furious, not only because he knows Spalding isn't the reformed man he pretends to be, but also because Mick feels responsible: he was supposed to protect the woman Spalding killed, and he didn't take the responsibility seriously enough. Spalding also knows Mick is a vampire and will undoubtedly be out to get him. Further complicating Spalding's release is that Beth's good friend Julia has written a book portraying him as a great man and implicating Mick. Mick's worst fears come true and he, along with Beth, must rescue Julia. In the end, Beth learns that Mick is a vampire. (wikipedia.org)
